VX Exchanger RT – for tube-to-tubesheet weld inspection with low inspection volumes

VX Exchanger RT is a complete system specifically developed for the radiographic testing of tube-to-tubesheet weld connections where access is available only from the tubesheet side. For inspection tasks with lower volumes, where the purchase of a fully digital VX Exchanger XL system may not be justified, VX Exchanger RT provides a solution that enables continued use of analogue methods with X-ray film or imaging plates. VX Exchanger RT can be used for metallic materials (e.g. steel, nickel-based or titanium alloys) with a minimum internal tube diameter (ID) of 7 mm.

The system consists of:

  • metal-ceramic X-ray tube (rod anode)
  • high-voltage generator
  • notebook
  • ISee! Professional software with modules for controlling the X-ray source, for image processing and analysis, and for inspection report generation and archiving (optional)
  • film or imaging plate scanner supported by ISee! Professional for digitising the images (optional)
  • transport and storage case that accommodates all system components and can be transported in the trunk of a passenger car

VX Exchanger RT is controlled using the ISee! Professional software, which, in addition to image acquisition, also provides functions for application-specific image enhancement, efficient image analysis and data management. Further information on the software can be found at:
