Universal and customized – solutions for almost any inspection task

Digital radiography is a modern inspection method and plays a key role within the field of non-destructive testing. Companies benefit in manufacturing, maintenance, and quality assurance from the diverse and efficient application possibilities of digital radiographic inspection. As one of the pioneers in the field of digital industrial radiology, Vision in X industrial imaging GmbH can look back on more than twenty years of experience in this domain. Thanks to our in-depth expertise and long-standing experience, we are able to provide you with comprehensive and competent support. Our focus is always on the professional and customer-specific implementation of your requirements. We offer solutions for almost any inspection task and application.
Below, you will find an overview of the wide range of application possibilities offered by our products; this list is not exhaustive.

Weld and casting inspection with digital radiography, as well as other DR methods

Vision in X systems for digital radiography offer significantly higher image quality, greater cost efficiency, and higher throughput than conventional film-based techniques. The systems can be designed and delivered in a manufacturer-independent manner according to customer requirements for almost any task in industrial radiographic inspection.

One software platform – all tasks of industrial radiographic inspection

Our control and evaluation software ISee! Professional offers a wide range of tools for efficient and standards-compliant analysis of digital X-ray images in non-destructive testing. It embodies nearly thirty years of experience in the field of digital industrial radiology. ISee! Professional is highly modular, supports devices from many different manufacturers, and can be applied to almost all tasks in industrial radiographic inspection.

Inspection in confined spaces

VX PlusPunkt is a mobile X-ray system with an exceptionally compact tube head, particularly effective in situations where confined spaces present a challenge, for example when objects need to be inspected during ongoing operation. VX PlusPunkt is supplied as a mobile system in two cases and can be operated using a portable powerstation. It provides an effective alternative to isotope-based inspection, even in hard-to-access areas.

Inspection of tube-to-tubesheet welds

Until now, the inspection of tube-to-tubesheet welds was only possible using film and isotopes, a time-consuming and costly approach that also results in poor image quality. With the VX Exchanger series, Vision in X has developed several systems for radiographic inspection of tube welds without the use of radioactive materials: VX Exchanger XL as a digital alternative for conventional inspection of externally accessible welds, VX Exchanger RT for inspections with lower inspection volume, and VX Exchanger IBW for inspecting internal tube welds.

Conversion of existing systems to filmless operation

For decades, film was the first choice for weld and casting inspection because of its high spatial resolution. However, the process requires environmentally harmful chemicals and generates large amounts of consumables during the inspection process. Inspection and evaluation times are comparatively long and therefore costly. Modern digital technology now generally provides better image quality than film. With ISee! Professional, older systems can be converted to digital operation in a cost-effective manner, as ISee! Professional can control a wide range of X-ray systems and imaging detectors.

Film digitisation

Digitising film-based images enables efficient and secure archiving, allowing the images to be retrieved later from any location and always in consistent quality.
With ISee! Professional, this task can be carried out efficiently through automation.

Corrosion inspection under insulation

When inspecting insulated or hard-to-access piping, radiographic methods for assessing corrosion and measuring the remaining wall thickness are often the only viable option. However, for the two common techniques – densitometric and tangential measurement – the measurement uncertainty depends strongly on numerous influencing factors such as wall thickness and scatter. Our software solutions wtScope and ISee! Professional provide an industry-proven approach that has been successfully used for twenty-five years.

Digital radioscopy

Switching to digital radioscopy instead of the analog method offers numerous advantages. By using a digital detector instead of an image intensifier, issues such as distorted representation or poor image resolution can be avoided, resulting in a significant improvement in image quality. In combination with the control and evaluation software ISee! Professional, additional tools become available, such as digital image processing, image-based measurements, and digital archiving.
